This Morning’s Holly and Phil gobsmacked as Spin to Win caller answers phone in hospital

The This Morning hosts were stunned as caller Genevieve told them she was in pain but willing to continue playing

  • 14:57, 3 NOV 2020

This is the moment This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were left gobsmacked after a Spin To Win caller answered the phone from hospital whilst in pain.

Holly and Phil rang contestant Genevieve who correctly gave the phrase of the day – ‘in it to win it’ – to secure a chance of winning a cash sum.

During each instalment of the ITV daytime show, viewers are given a chance of winning a cash prize and goodies during the Spin To Win game. All they need to do is correctly answer the phone with the correct daily phrase.

After Genevieve gave the correct phrase she revealed to Holly and Phil she was in pain in hospital – leaving the TV duo stunned, Chronicle Live reports.

Watch the video above to see the moment Holly and Phil shockingly discovered Spin To Win caller Genevieve answered the phone in pain in hospital.

“That’s so strange, I’m in hospital at the moment in a bit of pain so it’s very strange,” told Holly and Phil when she answered their call.

Phillip exclaimed: “Oh my god” as Holly asked “Are you ok? Are you alright to talk? You’re okay to play?” to which Genevieve replied: “Yes that’s perfect, thank you.”

Unable to fathom what was going on, Phillip then said: “So Genevieve you are in pain in hospital, probably lots of people worried about you, you pick up your phone ‘cos it rings and you say ‘in it to win it’?”

She replied: “You’ve got to be on it, you’ve got to go with it,” to which Holly responded: “You are absolutely right, we’re going to try and win you some money!”

And win her some money they did, as after Phillip spun the wheel the dial landed on the £3,000 jackpot!

Unable to watch the moment on TV herself, Genevieve reacted: “You’re joking! That’s amazing! That has made today a lot better.”

Holly told her: “Oh my goodness, what a day you’re having!” and Phillip joked: “I think the word rollercoaster is the one to use for your day today.”

Holly then added: “This is the perfect example of no matter how fed up you’re feeling or how your day is going, you just don’t know what’s around the corner do you?”
