Powerball results for 01/07/17 drawing; $94M jackpot expected

LANSING, MI — There was no grand-prize winner for the $94 million Powerball jackpot drawing held on Saturday, Jan. 7.

That means the drawing on Wednesday, Jan. 11 will be worth $106 million with a cash option of $64.9 million.

The Power Play Number: 2

Powerball winners for Jan. 7:

  • One player matched all five white numbers drawn to win $1 million. That ticket was sold in New York.
  • However, that player did not play the Power Play option which would have increased their winnings to $2 million.
  • Overall, there were 554,229 winners in the drawing who won at least $4 each. In Michigan, there were 15,897 winners.
  • In Michigan, three players won $200 in the drawing. That was the largest prize won in the state.

Powerball is offered in 44 States, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Players select five white numbers from (1 to 69) and one red ball (1 to 26) Tickets cost $2 each.

In other Michigan Lottery news:

  • The next Mega Millions drawing is Tuesday, Jan. 10, with an estimated jackpot of $126 million and cash option of $76 million.
  • The next Lotto 47 drawing is Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 7:29 p.m. with a jackpot of $16.55 million. Deadline is 7:08 p.m. that day.
  • Sunday’s Fantasy 5 jackpot is an estimated $349,000. The drawing is at 7:29 p.m. Deadline is 7:08 p.m.

Chuck Norris manager says actor was not at U.S. Capitol riot

NEW YORK (AP) — Chuck Norris’ manager says the “Walker, Texas Ranger” star was not present at last week’s deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol.

A photo of a man resembling Norris apparently with a member of the mob began trending online. “This is not Chuck Norris,” Norris manager Erik Kritzer told The Associated Press on Tuesday.
