Note: Out-of-district names will not be assigned a lottery number nor drawn in the lottery unless there are not enough in-district residents registered for the lottery.

We will keep all registration forms in the event it is necessary to draw from out-of-district to fill the seats at each grade level. (i.e. if you are an out-of-district applicant, you will only receive a lottery number if there are not enough in-district students registered for the lottery.)

Weighted Lottery

In order to promote greater socio-economic diversity at Princeton Charter School, we offer a Weighted Lottery. Any family that can provide evidence of one of the following criteria will have his/her child’s lottery number placed into the lottery twice rather than once.

  • The child already qualifies for free/reduced lunch at his/her current public school.
  • The child lives in Princeton public housing.
  • The child lives in Section 8 housing.
  • The child or guardian qualifies for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits

Virtual Open Houses

Due to the Covid-19 and the Coronavirus pandemic, all open houses and information sessions will be held virtually on Zoom. In order to provide as many opportunities for families as possible, we will host regular zoom information sessions. We will also have ” highlight” sessions that focus on specific aspects of our program.

We are glad you are considering LAMB as an option for your child’s education! At LAMB, we focus on helping our students become independent and bilingual lifelong learners. Who Can Apply to LAMB

LAMB is a public charter school in the District of Columbia, which means it is free and open to all D.C. residents. LAMB admits D.C. students of any race, color, national, or ethnic origin to all the rights privileges, programs, and activities made available to students at the school. The school does not discriminate based on race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, family status, or source of income, in any way. LAMB accepts students for PreK3, PreK4, and Kindergarten.

Prospective students must meet the following age requirements:

PreK3 applicants must turn three on or before September 30th of the year they are applying for admission.

PreK4 applicants must turn four on or before September 30th of the year they are applying for admission.

Kindergarten applicants must turn five on or before September 30th of the year they are applying for admission.

Additionally, if selected, families will have to show proof of D.C. residency to enroll at LAMB.

How to Apply

LAMB is part of the My School DC common lottery. The My School DC common lottery is a single, random lottery that determines placement for new students at LAMB and other participating schools. You must apply through this lottery if you want your child to attend LAMB.
