“Montana Millionaire” winner claims prize

HELENA – Randy Mai of Billings has stepped forward to claim the grand prize in the annual “Montana Millionaire” drawing of the Montana Lottery.

Mai claimed his winnings at Montana Lottery headquarters in Helena on Thursday, according to a press release.

He bought his winning ticket on November 30 at McFiny’s on 17th Street in Billings.

It isn’t the first time this McFiny’s has sold the winning Montana Millionaire ticket. In 2011, the winning Montana Millionaire ticket was sold there as well.

The Montana Lottery created Montana Millionaire in 2007 and the game has made one Montanan a millionaire each year since.

The game has other prizes, including three $100,000 prizes and five $10,000 prizes. The winning numbers were drawn on December 28. At the time of the press release, one $100,000 prize and four $10,000 prizes remain unclaimed. The names of the other winners have not yet been released.

(JANUARY 1, 2019) The Montana Lottery drew the winning ticket number for the 2018 Montana Millionaire game on Friday morning (December 28).

The winning ticket number is 106109. It was sold on November 30th at McFiny’s on 17th Street W. in Billings.

The game sold out in record time this year. Lottery officials say all 150,000 tickets were sold by December 5th. That is the earliest date in the game’s 12-year history.

Jennifer McKee, Montana Lottery communications director, said, “We wanted to create a big winner every year so no matter what was happening in Powerball, what’s happening in Mega Millions, somebody in Montana is going to be a millionaire, and it works exactly how we designed it. We make a millionaire every year and it’s really really fun.”
