Maryland Lottery Games and Drawing Schedules

Like many of its neighboring states, Maryland participates in the multi-state lottery game, Cash4Life. To play, you pick 5 numbers from 1-60 plus a Cash Ball number from 1-4.

A jackpot win gives you $1,000 a day for life — all you need to do is match all 6 winning numbers. The second prize win, meanwhile, gives you $1,000 a week for life. You can win this by matching all 5 regular numbers but not the Cash Ball.

Cash4Life draws take place every Monday and Thursday at 9 PM EST.

Multi-Match is the Maryland Lottery’s flagship game. The jackpot starts at $500,000 and rolls over every time nobody wins. To hit the jackpot, you’ll need to match all 6 numbers on any of the three lines on your ticket.

That means you play 18 numbers in total: a set of 6 numbers which you can select, as well as 2 additional sets of 6 that are randomly generated. You can win prizes for matches on each line, as well as for combined matches on all 3 lines.

Multi-Match draws take place every Monday and Thursday evening.

5 Card Cash

5 Card Cash is the Maryland Lottery’s poker-themed game with a daily $100,000 jackpot. Combining instant-win elements with a traditional draw game, 5 Card Cash gives you two ways to win.

For the draw game, you’ll get 5 randomly selected cards on your ticket. Matching all 5 winning cards for the draw (including suit and rank) will net you the jackpot.

For the instant-win game, getting a poker hand of 2 Jacks or better will get you a prize that you can claim instantly.

5 Card Cash draws are held every evening.

Bonus Match 5

Bonus Match 5 games run daily with a jackpot of $50,000 per game. To play, you only need to pick 5 numbers from 1-39. You need to match all 5 numbers to hit the jackpot.

You can win additional prizes by matching the Bonus Ball, which is selected randomly during each draw.

Bonus Match 5 games are held every evening.

Pick 4

The Maryland Lottery Pick 4 game has twice-daily draws with a jackpot of $5000 for each draw. Your top attainable prize depends on how much you wager and the playstyle you choose. You win the biggest jackpot when your ticket matches the winning draw numbers in exact order.

To play, you must pick 4 numbers, each from 0-9, and choose from the following playstyles:

  • Straight: You must match the winning numbers in the exact order.
  • Box: You can match the winning numbers in any order.
  • Straight & Box: You can match the winning numbers in any order or in exact order. Available only at $1 per ticket.
  • Combo: You get to play Straight bets for all possible combinations of your chosen numbers, boosting your chance of winning.

Maryland Lottery Pick 4 games are held twice a day: once at midday and again in the evening.

Pick 3

The Maryland Pick 3 takes its cue from its older sibling, the Daily 4, with twice-daily draws as well. Each game carries a fixed jackpot of $500. How much you can win, however, depends on your chosen playstyle and your bet value.

To play, you must pick a number from 000 to 999. You then choose a playstyle and bet value, as well as a draw schedule (midday, evening, or both). You win the jackpot when your combination matches the winning draw numbers in exact order.

You can choose from the following playstyles:

  • Straight: You must match the winning numbers in the exact order.
  • Box: You can match the winning numbers in any order.
  • Straight & Box: You can match the winning numbers in any order or in exact order. Available only at $1 per ticket.
  • Combo: You get to play Straight bets for all possible combinations of your chosen numbers, boosting your chance of winning.
  • Front Pair/Back Pair: You select 2 numbers (instead of 3). These must match the first 2 or the last 2 winning numbers in exact order.

Maryland Pick 3 games take place at midday and evening every day.

Maryland Lottery Second Chances

What is Second Chance?

Second chance games offer another chance to win with your non-winning draw game tickets or scratch cards. All you need to do is enter your non-winning tickets and wait for the draw outcomes. Which tickets are eligible, the frequency of second-chance draws, and the prizes on offer all depend on the lottery operator.

How does Second Chance work for the MD Lottery?

The Maryland Lottery doesn’t have a regular second chance game (unlike the California Lottery) — instead, the lottery runs limited-period promotions for selected scratch-off games. Cash prizes can go up to $10,000 per game. Depending on the promotion, prizes might also include vacation trips, tech packages, and more.

You must have a MyLottery Rewards account to enter second-chance games. Registration is free through the Maryland Lottery website .
