Check out this video that explains the lottery process.

Once again this season all individual game student tickets will be issued by means of an online electronic lottery. This page will continually provide all the information necessary to sign-up for tickets to each and every home game for the 2006-07 season. But before we get to the registration instructions, let us give you a brief understanding of how the lottery process will work.

Bookmark www.hokietickets.com/lottery/mbasketball. This is your gateway to the lottery process. Completely read the following instructions before continuing to the next page.

Follow the link at the bottom of the page to be taken to the block selection page. There will be a link for all blocks that are currently accepting registration.

Click on one or more of the open game links to be taken to our online student verification page. Only sign up for the games that you plan to attend. You will be asked to provide your Virginia Tech PID and your password. This will be checked to verify that you are in fact a full-time student here at Virginia Tech.

Your personal information will then be displayed and you will be required to verify that information. Once you’ve had a chance to check it over click on the submit button to enter the lottery. You must enter the lottery for each game available if you wish to attend each game.

A Sign-Up Confirmation page will be returned. If for some reason your information doesn’t check out, you will be returned an error message instead of the Sign-Up Confirmation to let you know what piece of information wasn’t verified and what needs to be done to correct it.

Once the cut-off date has passed, the lottery will be run on all valid submissions. Generally there will be more than one game available during a sign-up period. You must register for each game you wish to attend to be considered for that game’s lottery. A seperate lottery will be run for each game.

Once the lottery has been conducted, each individual selected to get a ticket will receive an email. The email message will notify you for which lotteries you were successful. The email will contain a link for the pick-up page. Follow that link to the barcoded pick-up receipt you will use to pick up the tickets. You will only get 1 barcode regardless of how many lotteries you win during a given pick-up period. Your receipt will also have a time listed. That is the time you may come to the coliseum to claim your ticket. Unsuccessful registrations will be retained in the event a second lottery needs to be run.

Individuals wishing to sit together must give their barcoded confirmations to one person and that person comes to the Coliseum to pick-up the tickets for the group.

There are no guest tickets available for Men’s Basketball.

Winning registrations will be required to pick-up their tickets within a pre-determined time. Tickets will be distributed at random. Any tickets not picked-up within that time frame will be forfeited and redistributed. If the number of initial lottery sumbissions is greater than the number of tickets available, then a second lottery will be conducted for the forfeited tickets. Once the lottery pool has been exhausted, if there are still tickets remaining they will be issued to any valid student that has not already claimed a ticket.

  • In addition to a student ticket you will need to present your Virginia Tech Student ID card at the gate for admission to games this season. Students without a valid Virginia Tech Student ID card will not be allowed to enter even if they have a student ticket.
  • So that’s how the new process is going to work. Our main objective in creating this process is to remove the doubt from the distribution process. Once handout begins you will already know if you will be getting a ticket.

    STUDENTS TICKETS

S tudents who wish to attend men’s and/or women’s basketball games will be asked to complete a one-time online registration by visiting www.ramblinwreck.com/students . Registration is open now.

To best manage the limited student seating and provide an equitable opportunity for students to attend, games will be pre-designated with a “White” or “Gold” game designation. Students that register will receive important updates throughout the season, including updates on “White/Gold” game designations. Completion of the one-time registration also ensures digital ticket delivery for “White” games. The game designations will be set prior to the start of the season and are subject to change at the discretion of the GTAA. Such changes will be communicated to the student body in a timely manner.

    “White” & “Gold” Designations
The MBB games vs Virginia and Duke have been designated as “Gold” games. Lottery entry for these games will open up 5 days prior to the game at www.ramblinwreck.com/students. For more details on the lottery process, click HERE.

All other games are currently designated as “White” games and are subject to change.

    Game Entry and Seating
A digital ticket AND valid Georgia Tech Buzz Card are required for entry. This will be strictly enforced. The name on the Buzz Card must match the name on the digital ticket. All students must enter via the North Entrance (the entrance facing 10 th Street). Digital tickets must be saved in the student’s Apple or G Pay Wallet prior to arriving at the game. The digital tickets utilize NFC technology allowing students to simply tap their phone on a self-service pedestal scanner to gain entry to McCamish Pavilion.

2020 Georgia Tech Football student tickets will be available through a lottery system due to limited capacity.

    • All student tickets for the 2020 season will be complimentary. No season tickets will be sold.
    • Group / block seating will NOT be available to students during the 2020 football season.
    • Each eligible student will be given the opportunity to enter into a student ticket lottery the Monday of each game week.
    • Lottery entries will not carry over from game to game. Students must submit a new lottery entry each game week.
    • Lottery winners will receive one (1) student ticket for their own use and one (1) student ticket to transfer to another GT student of their choosing.
    • Game tickets will be distributed the week of the game after a randomized lottery has taken place.
    • Approximately 800 student tickets will be available each week, with approximately 400 lottery winners.
    • The ticket lottery process allows a completely random selection of students to gain admission into Bobby Dodd Stadium for each home game. GTAA switched to a lottery process for the 2020 football season in order to accommodate the most students while maintaining social distancing guidelines within Bobby Dodd Stadium.
    • 2020-2021 Yellow Jacket Club (YJC) members will receive an extra entry to each lottery (i.e. if a YJC member enters a lottery that student will receive two (2) entries instead of one (1)). YJC members must still enter into the lottery to request tickets. Students can join the YJC by purchasing a $15 membership at www.ramblinwreck.com/students. In order to receive the extra entry, memberships must be purchased prior to entering into the lottery.
    • All student seating will be general admission and in the North Stands: Sections 112-120.
    • Seats will be in clusters of 2 and denoted by stinger seats throughout sections 112-120. The lottery winner and their guest will sit in a seat cluster of 2 upon arrival to the student section. Lottery winners who elect to attend the game alone will sit in a seat cluster of 2 and claim both seats to maintain social distancing.

Georgia Tech students must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible to claim/purchase a student ticket for games at Bobby Dodd Stadium:

    • Must be an enrolled full-time student
    • Graduate/Intern/Co-Op/Part-Time students must verify Athletic Fee payment through the Bursar’s Office

The list of eligible students is provided to the GTAA by GT Registrar. Students who are deemed eligible may purchase student season tickets, however, if the Athletic Fee is not paid, season tickets will be removed from their account.
