BTS, IU, NCT, Baekhyun, BLACKPINK, TWICE, and more win at the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards – see the list of winners
The Mnet Asian Music Awards went online for their 22nd edition this weekend.
Celebrating the best Asian artists in the region, this year’s ceremony took place on the virtual space called “NEW-TOPIA,” and hosted by actor Song Joong Ki. MAMA also teamed up with Twitter for Stanbot, to give fans up-close access to their favourite K-pop acts even from their own homes.
10 must-watch performances at the Mnet Asian Music Awards 2020
Performers included the likes of BTS, NCT, SEVENTEEN, ENHYPEN, MONSTA X, MAMAMOO, TWICE, TXT, BoA, Taemin, Jessi and Hwa Sa, TREASURE, GOT7, and IZ*ONE.
Held on 6 December at 6 PM KST (4 PM ID/TH Standard Time; 5 PM PH/SG/MY Standard Time), the show was made available via tvN, JOOX, Viu, and other channels.
BTS swept the Daesangs this year, taking home the awards for Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Worldwide Icon of the Year.
IU was awarded Best Female Artist, as well as Best Vocal Performance Solo for ‘Blueming,‘ and Best Collaboration for ‘eight,’ which featured and was produced by BTS member, SUGA.
EXO‘s Baekhyun received the Best Male Artist Award for the second consecutive year.
Aside from being included in the Worldwide Fans’ Choice Top 10, TWICE were voted as The Most Popular Artist, while NCT also received the Favourite Male Group Award.

The 2020 Melon Music Awards are finally here!
Kicking off on Tuesday (12/02), the annual awards show is taking place online until 5 December. This mark’s MMA’s first time to be held in a virtual space and the organisers promise to create a new “performance culture” as part of the experience.
The likes of BTS, TXT, MONSTA X, OH MY GIRL, DAY6(Even of Day) THE BOYZ, Simon Dominic, CODE KUNST, JANNABI, Lim Young Woong, Young Tak, and more are scheduled to perform throughout the week.
Last month, MMA’s Top 10 Artists were revealed to include: Baek Yerin, EXO’s Baekhyun, BLACKPINK, BTS, Im Young Woong, IU, IZ*ONE, Kim Ho Joong, Oh My Girl, and Block B’s Zico.
Aside from their Top 10 Artist inclusion, BTS also won Artist of the Year and Netizen’s Choice. The group also took home the Song of the Year and Best Dance (Male) awards for their Grammy-nominated hit, ‘Dynamite’. Their February 2020 record, Map of the Soul:7, won Album of the Year.
K-pop rookies Cravity and Weeekly won Best New Artist, while MONSTA X were awarded with Best Performance. BLACKPINK‘s ‘How You Like That’ took home the award for Best Dance (Female).
‘eight,’ IU‘s collaboration with SUGA, won Best Rock, and ‘Leo,’ BOL4‘s song with EXO‘s Baekhyun got the award for Best Indie.
