Broadway’s 1984, Starring Olivia Wilde and More, Announces Digital Lottery

The entire front row of seats will be available via lottery for $19.84 each.

A digital ticket lottery has been announced for the Broadway premiere of George Orwell’s 1984. The entire front row of seats will be available via lottery for $19.84 each.

The entry period will begin each day at midnight and continue until winners are notified via email and push notification two to four hours before the selected performance begins. Winners will be offered the opportunity to purchase either one or two tickets.

Starring Tony Award nominee Tom Sturridge, Olivia Wilde in her Broadway debut, and Tony Award winner Reed Birney, 1984 is currently running at the Hudson Theatre. Opening night is set for June 22. Adapted and directed by Robert Icke and Duncan Macmillan, the drama comes to New York after four acclaimed runs in the United Kingdom, with Sonia Friedman and Scott Rudin producing. In addition to Sturridge, Wilde, and Birney, the cast will include Wayne Duvall (Parsons), Carl Hendrick Louis (Martin), Nick Mills (Syme), Michael Potts (Charrington), and Cara Seymour (Mrs. Parsons).

1984 features a creative team that includes Chloe Lamford (scenic and costume design), Natasha Chivers (lighting design), Tom Gibbons (sound design), and Tim Reid (video design).

One of the most widely referenced and best-known fiction titles of all time, 1984 was published in 1949. The work depicts a dystopian future in which thought is suppressed and a totalitarian regime controls the public.

The entire front row of seats will be available via lottery for $19.84 each.
